Vintage Chord Organ [Kontakt Instrument]

Whatsup! I'm moving ~1600 miles across the country soon and I won't be able to bring my wonderful little $5 yard sale chord organ with me, so I spent my day off sampling the hell out of it for a personal Kontakt library.

Here's a photo of the recording process at my personal state-of-the-art studio in beautiful central Connecticut:

About the Instrument: From what I've been able to gather from eBay listings and about 5 minutes worth of Google searches, this is a 37-key electric chord organ manufactured by Magnus sometime in the 1960s. Over the years, the tuning has slipped a bit, which has been corrected only enough to smooth out serious issues without affecting the character. Want to buy one of these babies for yourself? You're looking at about $75-100 on eBay, if you're lucky enough to get to it before everybody else.

Audio Demo: [Couldn't fetch content for https://soundcloud.com/aerocitymusic/vintage-chord-organ-free - Is the URL correct?]

Features:

  • 37 playable keys.
  • Infinite hold time.
  • 24 bit, 44.1kHz, stereo .wav files. Recorded through a Shure VP88 into Pro Tools with a 003 rack.

Not Included:
The chord buttons. You aren't missing much here, the chord selection is pretty limited. The samples have been recorded, but I'm saving them for an actual release in the future.

This is a 144.5MB .nki file which can be opened in Kontakt or (as far as I know) the free Kontakt 5 Player.

As always with the sounds I give you guys, if you make anything with it, I wanna hear it! Hope you dig it!
